The CARE team organises a number of educational activities. Team personnel contribute to education elsewhere, with over 7 being examiners for the Faculty of Pre-hospital Care and many as instructors for BASICS.

Undergraduate Prehospital Trauma Course
5th year medical students at the University of Birmingham medical school undertake a two and a half day course introducing them to the fundamentals of pre-hospital trauma care. This course is validated by the FPHC and is now a compulsory part of the curriculum. Many students continue on to a career in trauma and emergency medicine as a result of the impact of this course.
Pre-hospital RSI assistant
Teaching nurses, doctors and paramedics the knowledge and skills necessary to assist with the conduct of a pre-hospital rapid sequence induction of anaesthesia.
3rd Thursday - Faculty of Prehospital Care Regional Meetings
Monthly 3rd Thursday educational meetings at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham. External speakers are invited to lecture on a variety of relevant topics to an open audience. More details HERE
IMC preparation program
The DIMC examination is held in Edinburgh by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. The Examination is open to registered doctors, paramedics and nurses. The programme has three purposes.
This programme is not a substitute for other reading or clinical practice but is designed to support your preparation for the DIMC.
The programme has two opening presentations that are open to everyone. This programme tries to support your preparation for the examination as well as challenge your thinking and clinical practice.
